Olde Sycamore & Mallard Head

Played two courses this past weekend, the first with my son Matt and the latter with CSGA - the Carolina arm of the ASGA.

Olde Sycamore is a very beautiful course with narrow fairways and sometimes slick greens. I remember on one hole one of our partners putting from the same spot three times. Wow! Granted he wasn't the greatest golfer but that's pretty cruel punishment for not making it close to the hole. Shot a 91 with three 3 putts. Would like to go back and have a shot at under 90 again.

Mallard Head is just your local run-of-the-mill course - wide fairways and forgiving greens. There are some beautiful holes but overall its not a course and fight to get to again. My favorite hole was the 10th and only because of the women's tee. The men shoot their tee shot over a pond while the women's tee is situated on a long peninsular right in the middle of the pond. I like the look.
